Last Buell headed for Barber
Museum
12 motorcycles donated to collection
The final production Buell motorcycle will
be enshrined in the Barber Motorsports Museum in Leeds, Ala.
The last
Buell, a 2010 Lightning XB12Scg, was produced Oct. 30 at the company’s East Troy, Wis.,
facility. It was the 136,923rd, and final , motorcycle built in the Buell’s 26-year history. The last
Buell joins 11 other Buell motorcycles were donated to the Museum, including a 1996 S3T
Thunderbolt, a 1999 X1 Lightning and modified stunt bikes used by Craig Jones and Bubba Blackwell. Several
clay model prototype mock-ups were also donated.
“We’re very pleased to be able to add to the Barber Museum’s already
extensive collection of Buell motorcycles, and hope that the many motorcycle enthusiasts who visit their museum will enjoy seeing
these motorcycles along with the rest in their fine collection,” says Jon Flickinger, president and chief
operating officer of Buell Motorcycle Company.
The final Buell motorcycle produced at the
company's East Troy factory will find a home at the Barber Motorsports Museum.
